Standard Work Schedule: Sunday through Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Salary Range: $28.77 per hour.

Position Summary:

Under general direction, the Porter A will be responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of Columbia University apartment buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain building and grounds, including elevators, stairways, corridors, windows, floors, laundry rooms, and vacant or occupied apartments and offices.
• Trim trees and shrubs; fertilize, seed, and mow lawns.
• Sweep and hose sidewalks, remove snow, and spread salt as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Heavy lifting may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalency certification.
• Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Resume and application must be up-to-date.
