Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Smyrna, GA is seeking a Porter to support the shop by keeping customer vehicles clean before delivery and maintaining the appearance of the office and production areas.

You will pre-wash vehicles prior to repairs, clean interiors and exteriors after service, handle transport to sublet locations, and help with general housekeeping. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are preferred; automotive experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Automotive experience preferred.
• Clear close vision required.
• 18 years or older; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW plan.
• Maintain daily housekeeping of office interior; empty garbage, clean floors and dust surfaces.
• Keep production area tidy; dispose of waste, organize tools and equipment.
• Maintain parking lots and grounds; shovel sidewalks when needed.
• Pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs.
• Clean interiors and exteriors after repairs.
• Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs.

Job Description:

The Porter complements quality repairs by cleaning customer vehicles prior to vehicle delivery. Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of shop and office facilities.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location.
• Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
• Pre-washes customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning.
• Exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
• Transport of customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs

Education and/or Experience Required

• High School diploma / GED preferred
• Ability to multitask
• Automotive experience preferred
• Clear close vision required
• 18 years or age or older
• Valid Driver’s license
