Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking a Porter to support car care operations and maintain cleanliness of the shop and office areas. You will pre-wash customer vehicles before repairs, perform post-repair cleaning, and transport vehicles to sublet locations as needed.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma / GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to multitask with attention to detail. Automotive experience is preferred to excel in this role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW plan.
• Maintain daily office interior housekeeping and trash disposal.
• Keep production area clean and organized; dispose of waste and store tools.
• Maintain parking lots and grounds in neat condition.
• Pre-washes customer vehicles before repairs.
• Clean both exterior and interior of vehicles after repairs.
• Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs.

Job Description

The Porter complements quality repairs by cleaning customer vehicles prior to vehicle delivery. Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of shop and office facilities.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location.
• Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
• Pre-washes customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning.
• Exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
• Transport of customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs

Education And/or Experience Required

• High School diploma / GED preferred
• Ability to multitask
• Automotive experience preferred
• Clear close vision required
• 18 years or age or older
• Valid Driver's license
• Strong attention to detail
