Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Ann Arbor seeks a Porter to support our collision and glass services by preparing vehicles for delivery. You will maintain cleanliness of the shop, assist with both interior and exterior cleaning, and help move customer vehicles between locations as needed.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, reliability, and a strong safety mindset. Prior automotive exposure is a plus; a high school diploma or GED is preferred, and a valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-wash of customer vehicles prior to repairs.
• Clean interior and exterior of customer vehicles after repairs.
• Transport vehicles to sublet locations as needed.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office and production areas.
• Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion.

Job Description

The Porter complements quality repairs by cleaning customer vehicles prior to vehicle delivery. Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of shop and office facilities.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location.
• Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
• Pre-washes customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning.
• Exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
• Transport of customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs

Education And/or Experience Required

• High School diploma / GED preferred
• Ability to multitask
• Automotive experience preferred
• Clear close vision required
• 18 years or age or older
• Valid Driver's license
