Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is hiring a Porter to support our collision and glass service teams in the Dumfries area. You will clean customer vehicles before delivery and maintain both office and production area cleanliness to ensure a smooth, efficient workflow.

Key duties include pre-wash and post-repair cleaning, vehicle movement to sublet locations, and meticulous upkeep of facilities. Prior automotive exposure is preferred, with a commitment to safety and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including garbage disposal, floors, and countertops.
• Maintain daily housekeeping of the production area, waste disposal, and tool storage.
• Keep parking lots and grounds neat; shovel sidewalks as needed.
• Pre-washes customer vehicles before repairs start.
• Clean interior and exterior of customer vehicles after repairs.
• Transport vehicles to sublet locations for repairs.

Job Description

The Porter complements quality repairs by cleaning customer vehicles prior to vehicle delivery. Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of shop and office facilities.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location.
• Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
• Pre-washes customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning.
• Exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
• Transport of customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs

Education And/or Experience Required

• High School diploma / GED preferred
• Ability to multitask
• Automotive experience preferred
• Clear close vision required
• 18 years or age or older
• Valid Driver's license
• Strong attention to detail
