Job summary

Ports America, at Port Newark Container Terminal in Newark, NJ, seeks a Yard/Gate Assistant Operations Manager to oversee yard/gate operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and timely service to vessels and truck lines. You will supervise labor, manage KPIs, enforce procedures, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced maritime environment.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of management experience; TWIC card and valid US driver's license

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of management experience in operations, transportation, warehousing, or related fields.
• TWIC card issued by DHS required.
• Valid US driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee yard/gate operations to ensure productivity, safety, and timely execution.
• Supervise fleet and KPI tracking, guiding labor to standards.
• Enforce safe practices and standard procedures among staff.
• Coordinate with vessel operations, trucking lines, and agencies to resolve issues.
