Job summary

APM Terminals Elizabeth is seeking an experienced supervisor to lead daily yard operations in a fast-paced, high-volume port environment. You will oversee labor and equipment deployment, ensuring safety, efficiency, and alignment with operating plans while coordinating with Vessel, Rail, Gate, Planning, and HSSE teams.

You will drive continuous improvement through data analysis and the use of terminal systems (Navis N4/XPS, SmartMap, GOS/TAS, TERMPoint) and Power BI, while coaching teams to

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of supervisory or management experience in operations, transportation, warehousing, supply chain, stevedoring, or related fields.
• Experience leading performance in a unionized labor environment through coaching and accountability.
• Proficiency with terminal systems and data tools to guide deployment decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily execution of yard operations ensuring safe, efficient labor and equipment deployment.
• Direct ILA Foremen and Supervisors to optimize labor utilization and manage costs.
• Monitor yard performance and reallocate resources to maintain flow and priorities.
• Utilize terminal systems (Navis N4/XPS, SmartMap, GOS/TAS, TERMPoint) for decision support.
• Analyze data to identify constraints and implement improvements for throughput.
• Coach and address performance and conduct to support safe operations.
• Collaborate with Vessel, Rail, Gate, Planning, Asset Maintenance, HSSE and other teams.
