Job summary

Qualifications

• Master 100 Ton Near Coastal license.
• Minimum 5 years with 100T Near Coastal with a satisfactory record.
• 5 years as a manager in the maritime industry.
• Valid TWIC, First Aid and CPR.
• FCC Marine Radio Operators Permit.
• Strong focus on safety and teamwork with the ability to establish and maintain professional relationships.
• Experience with high-speed catamarans is a plus.
• Detailed working knowledge of ships’ systems and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for guidelines of contracted ferry services, including vessel schedules and performance.
• Coordinate with General Manager and Director of Marine Operations to develop department goals and manage budgets.
• Ensure vessels are utilized efficiently while considering sales, budgets, repairs and maintenance impacts.
• Establish effective inter-department communications for vessel tasking and notify of service changes as needed.
• Monitor weather conditions and assist in mitigation measures and notifications.
• Lead safety meetings, drills, and ensure compliance with Crisis Management Plan and USCG requirements.
• Support planning for repairs, maintenance, and capital projects with timelines and contingencies.
• Oversee vessel, dock, and pier conditions; audit incident reports and promote lessons learned.
• Manage staff performance evaluations and partner with HR for recruitment and training.
• Available for work nights, weekends and major holidays.
