Qualifications

• Training from maritime academy or machinery trade school is required.
• 3–5 years of experience on diesel vessels or similar machinery systems.
• Familiar with piping, electrical components, drive trains, hydraulics and water jets.

Responsibilities

• Monitor preventative maintenance program for vessels under Port Engineer direction.
• Alert Port Engineer to machinery or vessel systems needing repair.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as directed by the Port Engineer.
• Handle engine maintenance incl. oil changes, fuel systems, water jets, and gear boxes.
• Overhaul valves, injectors, cylinder heads and liners; service water jets and pumps.
• Repair vessel piping, valves, tanks, and pumps; assist with major installations.
• Support documentation of maintenance in Wheelhouse system; ensure timely reporting.
