Job summary

Centerline Logistics seeks an experienced marine operations leader to supervise and develop vessel crews on tug/barge operations along the U.S. coasts. The role involves inspections, incident investigations, and cost-control initiatives while interfacing with customers on ongoing projects.

Responsibilities include scheduling, crew performance reviews, and the potential to captain vessels when required, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Travel to out ports is expected.

Qualifications

  • Five years at sea as Master on tugboats, tankers or oil barges or equivalent military experience.
  • Valid US Coast Guard Master’s license on offshore towboats 200T Minimum/Master of Towing Endorsement.
  • ATB operational experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of tugboat and oil transportation industry.
  • Reading, speaking, writing and understanding English proficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise, hire, train and evaluate marine personnel.
  • Ensure vessels and crews comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Conduct inspections, including SIRE readiness and vessel maintenance reviews.
  • Assist in scheduling of SIRE’s and vessel crews.
  • Interface with customers and develop marine operations/cost control procedures.
  • Recruitment and performance reviews of marine personnel.
  • Operate company vessels as Captain when directed.
