Job summary

APTIM is seeking a Port Services Project Engineer to join our Ports Services Group in New Orleans, LA (with options in Mobile, AL or No Florida). You will contribute to inspection, analysis, and design of cranes, piers, wharves, and other port infrastructure along the Southeast.

Work with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers to assess challenges using tools like Mathcad, RISA, and AutoCAD. Responsibilities include field investigations, technical reports, repair and retrofit design,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred or able to obtain within 12 months.
• 10+ years of progressive structural or mechanical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Support port and harbor projects across the Southeast.
• Perform structural/Mechanical inspections of cranes and waterfront structures.
• Develop repair, retrofit, and new design drawings and calculations.
• Conduct structural analysis with RISA, Mathcad, and AutoCAD; assist design reviews.
• Collaborate with project managers to meet scope, schedule, quality.
• Travel 10-25% and mentor junior engineers.
