Port NOLA seeks a Port Facility Maintenance Master Mechanic.
This position is in the Facility Services department of the Port of New Orleans Maintenance Division.
This position serves as a Master Mechanic by performing the following tasks to include but not limited to: Repairs and vehicles, machinery and equipment. Diagnose. Repair. Maintain. Keep the Port Moving.
Three years of experience in the maintenance or repair of mobile equipment; or in the operation of heavy mobile equipment, industrial machinery, construction or maintenance equipment, or transportation or materials handling equipment.
Diagnoses, repairs, and maintains a wide range of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine-powered equipment, including gas, diesel, and propane engines, HVAC systems, generators, fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and grounds-maintenance equipment. Inspects, dismantles, adjusts, replaces, and installs defective or worn components, including hydraulic hoses, pistons, valves, bearings, gears, cylinders, and other mechanical parts; uses diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve maintenance issues. Performs preventive maintenance and emergency repairs, including equipment testing, lubrication, tire changes, parts ordering, and repair documentation; maintains a clean and safe work environment and provides maintenance support as directed.
