Job summary

Trident Seafoods seeks a Port Engineer to oversee maintenance and repairs for fishing vessels operating in the Bering Sea, Washington, and Oregon. You will manage budgets, schedules, and contractor relationships while ensuring compliance with US Coast Guard regulations and safety standards.

Travel to Alaska and local shipyards is required during peak seasons. The role demands coordination with Operations and Engineering teams, monitoring vessel performance, and driving continuous improvement

Qualifications

4+ years ship repair or relevant marine engineering experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of vessel propulsion and auxiliary systems equipment.

Responsibilities

Coordinate engineering operations with multiple departments to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
Communicate daily with ship's engineering crew and shore side operations.
Monitor day-to-day technical operation of vessels and manage ongoing projects.
Prepare budgets, plans, and scopes of work; obtain bids from contractors or shipyards.
Inspect machinery and equipment; identify deficiencies and drive corrective actions.
Maintain records of engineering costs and procurement.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and safety procedures.
