Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Residence within 50 miles of Houston, TX.
• Minimum 3 years maintaining tugs or barges.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of oil transportation and marine industry.
• Knowledge of tugs and barge maintenance systems and equipment.
• Ability to repair marine equipment on site.
• Travel to multiple states may be required.
• Must have or obtain TWIC card.

Responsibilities

• Direct, supervise and monitor planned and unplanned repairs on tank barge fleet within budgets and timelines.
• Oversee all regulatory inspections for tank barge fleet and address issues from inspections.
• Collect bids for major shipyard work and coordinate parts and services purchases.
• Respond to emergency calls during weekends, holidays, and nights.
• Assist with development of planned maintenance budgets and maintain records for preventive programs.
• Provide backup support to maintenance staff during vacations or illnesses.
• Serve as backup for vessel maintenance and repair issues and ensure regulatory compliance.
