Job summary

Genesis Marine in New Orleans is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for inland and offshore fleet management. You will direct repairs, oversee inspections, and manage budgets while ensuring compliance with state and federal barge regulations.

This role requires 3+ years of tug/barge maintenance experience, strong Word/Excel skills, and willingness to travel. A TWIC credential or ability to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must live within 50 miles of New Orleans.
• 3 years of experience maintaining tugs or barges.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of oil transportation and marine industry.
• Knowledge of tug and barge maintenance systems and equipment.
• Ability to repair marine equipment on site under adverse conditions.
• Willingness to travel to various states.
• TWIC credential or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Direct, supervise and monitor planned and unplanned repairs on tank barge fleet within budgets and time frames.
• Oversee regulatory inspections for tank barge fleet and address issues.
• Collect bids for major shipyard work.
• Coordinate purchasing of parts and services for repair and maintenance projects.
• Respond to emergency calls during weekends, holidays, and nights.
• Assist with development of planned maintenance budgets.
• Maintain records for preventative maintenance program.
• Provide backup support to maintenance staff for vacations and illnesses.
• Serve as backup for vessel maintenance and repair issues.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal barge operation regulations.
• Adhere to all company policies.
