Job summary

All Modal Transportation is hiring a Port Intermodal Truck Driver with CDL Class A to haul containers from the Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach. You’ll operate a truck tractor, perform inspections, and stay in regular contact with Dispatch while working a full-time schedule.

Expect 60-70 hours per week with home daily, eligible for paid holidays and PTO, and year-round work in a stable company-driver role.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license.
• Clean MVR; be prepared to provide an accident report if needed.
• Valid TWIC card.
• Minimum 3 years verifiable CDL Class A experience.
• Minimum 1 year port-hauling containers experience.
• Pass DOT pre-employment drug test.
• Available to work up to 14 hours daily for full-time.

Responsibilities

• Operate truck tractor to transport containers to/from the port of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Refuel tractor as needed.
• Communicate with Dispatch via hands-free device throughout shift.
• Complete daily paperwork and submit required photos.
• Weigh containers (empty or loaded) when needed.

All Modal Transportation offers:

Requirements:

• Valid CDL Class A license
• Clean MVR - if you have an accident on the record, please be ready to provide an accident report
• Valid TWIC card
• Min 3 years of verifiable experience as a CDL Class A driver
• Min 1 year experience working with the port hauling containers
• Must pass DOT pre-employment drug test
• Be available to work up to 14 hours daily for a Full-Time position

Job Description:

• Operating a truck tractor to transport containers to and from the port of Los Angeles and Long Beach
• Pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections
• Tractor fueling
• Be able to communicate with Dispatch throughout the work day – a hands-free device for cell communication is required.
• Completion and submission of daily paperwork and required pictures
• Container weighing, empty or/and heavy, if needed

Additional Requirements:

The essential functions of the job require the ability to perform the following tasks unassisted: bending, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, pulling up to get in and out of the truck, walking, squatting, kneeling; use of both hands to operate the truck, hold the wheel and shift the gears; sitting is expected for hours at a time with no opportunity to stop, get out of the vehicle and stretch.
