Job summary

All Modal Transportation is looking to hire Port Intermodal Truck Drivers with CDL Class A license and a valid TWIC card for dedicated year-round trips between El Centro, CA and the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

We work exclusively with containers; drayage/intermodal experience is a must. Full-time company driver, home daily, up to 70 hrs per week, with paid holidays and PTO.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with TWIC card is required.
• Minimum 3 years verifiable CDL Class A driving experience.
• Minimum 1 year port container hauling experience.
• Clean MVR; be ready to provide accident report if applicable.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment drug test.
• Ability to work up to 14 hours daily.
• Experience with intermodal drayage is essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor-trailer to transport containers to and from the ports.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Operate Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).
• Fuel the truck with diesel and DEF.
• Maintain communication with Dispatch using a hands-free device.
• Complete daily paperwork and required photos.
• Weigh containers, empty or loaded.

Job Description:

• Operating a truck tractor to transport containers to and from the port of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
• Completing pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.

Additional Requirements:

The essential functions of the job require the ability to perform the following tasks unassisted: bending, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, pulling up to get in and out of the truck, walking, squatting, kneeling; use of both hands to operate the truck, hold the wheel and shift the gears; sitting is expected for hours at a time with no opportunity to stop, get out of the vehicle and stretch.

Descripción del trabajo:

• Operar un tractocamión para transportar contenedores hacia y desde los puertos de Los Ángeles y Long Beach.
• Realizar inspecciones del equipo antes y después de cada viaje.
• Operar registros electrónicos de horas de servicio (ELD).
• Abastecer el camión con diésel y DEF.
• Mantener comunicación con Despacho durante toda la jornada laboral; se requiere un dispositivo de manos libres para comunicación celular.
• Completar y entregar la documentación diaria y las fotografías requeridas.
• Pesaje de contenedores vacíos y/o cargados.

Requisitos adicionales:

Las funciones esenciales del puesto requieren la capacidad de realizar sin asistencia las siguientes tareas: agacharse, alcanzar objetos por encima de la cabeza, empujar, jalar, subir y bajar del camión, caminar, ponerse en cuclillas y arrodillarse; utilizar ambas manos para operar el camión, sostener el volante y cambiar de marcha; permanecer sentado durante varias horas seguidas sin oportunidad de detenerse, salir del vehículo o estirarse.
