Job summary

Langham Hospitality Group is seeking a Pool Server to provide attentive and efficient poolside service. The role requires high standards of hospitality, knowledge of food and beverage service, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and at least 2+ years of server experience. CPR/First Aid and food handlers certification are preferred.

JOB TITLE: Pool Server

REPORTS TO: F&B Director

SUPERVISES: n/a

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

To provide the utmost in attentive and efficient service. Maintain a positive attitude and ensure our guests feel welcome and comfortable.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:

• Taking care of every guest as it pertains to food service.
• Knowledge of the sequence of service: Explanation of daily specials, wine order, food order, mis-en-place for table, serve appetizer, serve entrée, check with guest periodically to ensure satisfaction, dessert and coffee service, presentation of check.
• Knowledge of beverages, wines, drink recipes, basic garnishes, food service.
• Serves guests food and beverages poolside
• Removes dishes, glasses, silverware or other item from tables and countertops and takes them to the dish pit for proper sanitation
• Responsible for maintaining an organized and clean service area at all times, including set up and breakdown
• Ability to up-sell and increase check averages.
• Adheres to proper cash drop procedures and closing out daily procedure
• Remaining and being seen on the floor at all times.
• Abiding by hotel, and sanitation guidelines.
• Wipe down, set up and move, when necessary, all pool deck equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• High intensity and a stressful environment as it pertain to cover counts.
• Must be able to carry 3 + plates at a time of weights up to 15 pounds.
• Ability to remain on your feet for 7+ hours
• Ability to work in high temperatures.

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Knowledge and identity of food items. Knowledge of wine, liquor and other beverage service.
• Ability to provide courteous, efficient and professional service. Greet guests with a smile. Be able to answer any questions from the guest concerning the menu, our hotel, and other outlets of the Hotel
• Must have an open and flexible schedule
• Ability to think fast, react fast, and resolve issues
• Empowerment to take problems into own hands and resolve them
• Must know your clientele and remember names and favorite foods.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

High school diploma required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

2+ Years as a server.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:

• Must be minimum age to serve alcohol.
• Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate.
• CPR Certification and/or First Aid Training preferred.
• Tips Training necessary, may be provided by the Hotel.
• Food handlers certification.

SALARY:

$19.06 + Tips
