Job summary

The Langham Huntington, Pasadena, Los Angeles is seeking a Pool Attendant to maintain the pool areas, ensuring they are clean, safe, and inviting for guests. You will assist with towel services, monitor pool safety, and support the outdoor and indoor pool environments in a professional manner.

Ideal candidates will have knowledge of pool systems, be able to read and communicate in English, and work well in a team under varying schedules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain supplies in the pool area and report maintenance needs to the direct manager.
• Be proactive in handling safety issues in or around the pool area including the Jacuzzi, hideaway, and restroom area.
• Complete daily cleaning duties such as emptying trash, restocking and laundering towels, cleaning pool as appropriate.
• Transport towel bins to and from Laundry room.
• Take guest order for Servers if guest desires service.
• Knowledge of Pool hours and activities.
• Maintain an open line of communication between guest, management, and colleagues.
• Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner.
• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the pool.

JOB TITLE: Pool Attendant

REPORTS TO: Pool Supervisor/ Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

To properly maintain the outdoor and indoor pool areas and insure that pool areas are clean, safe, and enjoyable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must enjoy working with a team in an outdoor environment with extreme temperatures.
• Physical activities include lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing a minimum of 75 pounds.
• Walk or stand for caring lengths of time, sometimes for extended periods of 6+ hours.
• Activities include standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, handling, lifting, carrying, seeing, hearing, talking, walking.

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

• Some knowledge of pool systems.
• Ability to read, listen and communicate effective in English, both verbally and in writing.

EDUCATION REQUIRED

• Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Previous guest services experience helpful.
• Previous experience with pool systems helpful.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

CPR Certification and / or First Aiding training preferred.
