Reporting to the Supervisor, Pool Services, the Pool Lifeguard is an outgoing, motivated individual capable of adapting to change in a fast-paced pool and hospitality environment. Demonstrates passion for people, encouraging and inspiring guests to elevate their wellness and aquatic experience, while creating a safe, fun, and enjoyable atmosphere. Contributes to the pool facilities, while preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies. Responsible for operational excellence while providing a clean and safe environment for all patrons, team members, and vendors, safeguarding enterprise assets, and upholding departmental integrity. Collaborates, initiates, and supports opportunities with other functions by championing the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that faithfully reflects and upholds the Tribe's vision, mission, and values.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

1. Model welcoming behavior, make guests comfortable, and deliver best-in-class guest service, including safety communication and anticipating guest needs while prioritizing safety.
2. Ensure the safety of guests on the pool deck and during aquatic activities by supervising and enforcing pool rules and regulations.
3. Prevent and respond effectively to aquatic emergencies, recognizing and acting swiftly to prevent incidents and drowning.
4. Implement and maintain safety, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures for pool facilities.
5. Assist with setting up and tearing down chairs and pool furniture for daily operations and extreme weather conditions.
6. Model enterprise and department policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Guidelines.
7. Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations.

Educational, Experience, And Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. At least one (1) year of experience with Lifeguard certification and service.
3. Valid Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications required and must be maintained throughout employment.
4. Previous experience in a spa, resort, or pool environment is highly preferred.

Required Licenses, Certifications, And Registrations

1. Possibly obtain and maintain a gaming license as required by the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission.
2. Proof of valid Lifeguard Certificate, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
3. Driving responsibilities: Role may or may not require a driver’s license or insurance, depending on the position.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

The physical demands and environment include working outdoors, in a climate-controlled setting, and possibly traveling. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and handle physical activities such as lifting up to 40 pounds, standing, walking, and other movements necessary for the role. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, including secondhand smoke, may occur. Reasonable accommodations will be provided in compliance with applicable laws.
