A Brief Overview

This RRT position requires an Associate degree and 1 year of experience. The schedule is 36 hours, with 3 shifts of 12 hours each, from 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The work will be at the Main Hospital Philadelphia campus and PA satellites in KOP and Newtown Square on a rotating basis.

The Polysomnography Technologist-RRT performs all technical duties for the Sleep Center under supervision to evaluate sleep disorders, including polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, research, and patient care. The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, demonstrating critical thinking, and serving as a resource and leader among staff. The technologist also applies respiratory therapy knowledge to provide specialized patient care and support procedures for these patients.

What you will do

  • Practice: Provide expert care using intuition, reasoning, and experience.
  • Prepare and calibrate testing equipment, ensuring proper functioning and making adjustments as needed, including applying electrodes and sensors according to standards.
  • Document observations, procedure changes, and significant events to assist in scoring and interpreting results.
  • Establish professional standards and participate in process improvements.
  • Incorporate research into practice and engage in scientific inquiry.
  • Act as a consultant to support professional development.
  • Review performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain a blame-free environment.
  • Identify and meet own learning needs.
  • Complete 10 Continuing Education Credits annually, as approved by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
  • Manage resources by teaching appropriate utilization and making recommendations.

Education Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree - Required

Experience Qualifications

  • At least one (1) year of experience - Required
  • Two (2) years of Respiratory Therapy experience - Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • Respiratory Therapist license in Pennsylvania or New Jersey - Required upon hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - Required upon hire
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) - Preferred within 24 months
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist Sleep Disorder Specialist (RRT-SDS) - Preferred within 24 months
  • Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (EEG) - Preferred within 24 months

SALARY RANGE:

$35.70 - $45.51 Hourly

Salary is for full-time employment; part-time pay is adjusted accordingly.
