Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH seeks a polysomnography technician to perform sleep studies for patients with suspected sleep disorders in accordance with hospital policies.

You will prepare patients, apply electrodes, monitor testing, document results, and maintain equipment and supplies, collaborating with physicians and care teams to ensure accurate data and patient safety.

Qualifications

• AMA-approved two-year Respiratory Therapy program completed or in progress.
• Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scheduling patients, physicians, and facilities and perform various administrative functions.
• Complete technical reports, process patient charge information, and maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Identify and perform basic and intermediate technical troubleshooting and artifact identification and elimination.
• Monitor patients and maintain safety during procedures and communicate with other patient care staff.
• Perform polysomnography procedures on patients with sleep disorders according to established policies and procedures.
• Prepare patients for testing, communicate procedure info and answer questions, and ensure accurate electrode application; collect information for interpretation of test results.
• Stock and maintain supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate levels and proper functioning; prepare patient rooms for polysomnography procedures.
