Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Rio Rancho, NM is hiring a Polysomnography Technologist II for the PMG Rio Rancho High Resort site. This full-time, 12-hour night-shift role involves performing polysomnography, scoring sleep studies, and generating reports per departmental protocols.

You will train under a Polysomnography Technologist II or physician, maintain equipment, fit PAP masks, educate patients, document observations, and coordinate with center physicians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in an accredited polysomnographic program within 7 days from start date; must complete within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs polysomnography acquisitions per departmental protocols while monitoring signal quality.
• Scores sleep tests and generates study reports.
• Documents routine observations to facilitate scoring and interpretation.
• Performs routine PAP mask fitting.
• Maintains, cleans, calibrates, and troubleshoots Sleep Center equipment.
• Educates patients about sleep testing and orients them to the Sleep Center.
• Communicates with Sleep Center physicians regarding patients and testing procedures.
• Applies electrodes per physician ordered montage and departmental procedure.
• Attends meetings and functions as an effective team member.

Responsibilities:

Duties to be performed under the direct supervision of a Polysomnography Technologist II or Licensed Physician.

• Performs polysomnography acquisitions, per departmental protocols while monitoring signal quality.
• Performs scoring of sleep testing and generates study reports.
• Document routine observations per department policy to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
• Perform routine positive airway pressure mask fitting.
• Maintains, cleans, calibrates, and troubleshoots Sleep Center equipment.
• Educates patients regarding sleep testing and orients them to the Sleep Center.
• Communicates with Sleep Center physicians regarding their patients and / or testing procedures.
• Applies electrodes per physician ordered montage and departmental procedure.

Other duties to be performed as assigned:

• Attends meetings and in-services as required.
• Functions as an effective team member.
• Other functions as required.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Enrollment in an accredited educational program described in section 5 of the Polysomnographic Practice Act within 7 days from start date.
• MA, EEG tech, EMT, Nurse Tech experience preferred.
• BLS required.
• License/Credentials: - will need to be tracked and managed by leader
• Application for NM Polysomnographic Trainee Permit/License will be submitted immediately upon completion of the first two modules in accredited educational program (approximately 14 days from start date).
• Must complete the accredited program within 6 months from start date.
• After completion of the accredited educational program the employee will immediately apply for NM Polysomnographic Temporary Permit.
• Must obtain Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) license within 2 years from start date.
