Los Alamos Medical Center in Los Alamos, NM, is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) to join our sleep medicine team. This full-time role performs PSG, MSLT, CPAP titrations, MWT and related studies, while ensuring patient safety and accurate data collection.

The ideal candidate holds BRPT certification as an RPSGT, BLS, and brings solid skills in testing, scoring, EMR documentation and patient education.

Qualifications

• Current BRPT-recognized RPSGT credential.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience with sleep testing procedures and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Performs PSG, MSLT, CPAP titrations, MWT and related sleep studies.
• Maintains patient safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
• Prepares equipment and settings for tests; explains procedures to patients.

How you'll contribute

A Polysomnographic Tech (RPSGT) who excels in this role:

• Performs a variety of sleep diagnostic procedures, including PSG, MSLT, titrations for CPAP, MWT procedures, and is responsible for patient safety protocols.

• Manages patient safety protocols. Maintains all federal, state, local and regulatory agency requirements.

• Prepares for the arrival of the patient by setting up and preparing the equipment for the ordered test.

• Interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.

• Performs testing and any additional testing required for sleep disorder that is noted.

• Scores, interprets, and reports results of sleep studies. Educates patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources.

• Prepares, calibrates, repairs, and maintains equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs and replacements.

• Manages all APAP CPAP patient appointments

• Completes coding for sleep studies in EMR systems

• Provides patient education of HST and equipment

• Maintains proper supplies to care for patients.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT). Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS).
