Job summary

Los Alamos Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Polysomnographic Tech (RPSGT) to perform sleep diagnostics and patient education at our Los Alamos, NM facility.

Join a 40-hour-per-week, full-time role with responsibilities including PSG/MSLT testing, CPAP titrations, scoring studies, equipment maintenance, EMR documentation, and patient safety compliance. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities within a growing national network.

  • Must hold current RPSGT credential from BRPT.
  • BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sleep diagnostic procedures including PSG, MSLT, CPAP titrations.
  • Maintain patient safety and comply with regulations.
  • Prepare equipment and set up testing environment.
  • Interview patients to determine sleep disorders and explain procedures.
  • Score, interpret and report sleep study results; educate patients.

How You'll Contribute
  • Performs a variety of sleep diagnostic procedures, including PSG, MSLT, titrations for CPAP, MWT procedures, and is responsible for patient safety protocols.
  • Manages patient safety protocols. Maintains all federal, state, local and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Prepares for the arrival of the patient by setting up and preparing the equipment for the ordered test.
  • Interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.
  • Performs testing and any additional testing required for sleep disorder that is noted.
  • Scores, interprets, and reports results of sleep studies. Educates patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources.
  • Prepares, calibrates, repairs, and maintains equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs and replacements.
  • Manages all APAP CPAP patient appointments
  • Completes coding for sleep studies in EMR systems
  • Provides patient education of HST and equipment
  • Manages proper supplies to care for patients.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT). Additional requirements include:

  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS).
