Job summary

Highpoint Health - Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist for full-time night shift. This role leads the rehabilitation program operations, coordinating activities to meet goals and drive quality improvement in a collaborative team environment.

Key duties include patient sleep studies, equipment setup, testing, scoring and reporting results, plus participating in program development and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

  • Licenses: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT) — valid and current BRPT certification.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and prepare equipment for the ordered sleep test for each patient.
  • Interview patients to determine sleep disorder issues and explain testing procedures.
  • Perform sleep testing, score, interpret and report results of studies; educate patients on results and resources.
  • Prepare, calibrate, repair and maintain testing equipment.
  • Determine and report needed repairs and replacements.
  • Maintain supplies required to care for patients.

More About The Position

The Polysomnographic Technologist is responsible for the overall leadership and operation of the rehabilitation program. In this role, you will plan, direct, and coordinate program activities to ensure organizational and client goals are achieved. You will also play a key role in program development, quality improvement initiatives, problem-solving, and driving productivity while collaborating in a flexible, interdisciplinary team environment.

How You'll Contribute

A Polysomnographic Technologist who excels in this role:

  • Prepares for the arrival of the patient by setting up and preparing the equipment for the ordered test.
  • Interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.
  • Performs testing and any additional testing required for sleep disorder that is noted. Scores, interprets, and reports results of sleep studies. Educates patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources.
  • Prepares, calibrates, repairs, and maintains equipment required for testing.
  • Determines and reports needed repairs and replacements.
  • Maintains proper supplies to care for patients.
