Care New England Health System seeks a Sleep Lab Technician to score sleep recordings and prepare reports for physician interpretation. The role includes evaluating PSG/MSLT, interpreting data, and assisting in promoting the sleep lab to clinicians and the community.
Qualified candidates will have vocational/technical training, 1+ year experience, and be a registered polysomnography technologist. The position emphasizes accurate data analysis and collaboration with medical staff.
Performs the duties of a Sleep Lab Technician, scores sleep record of patient and prepares for physician interpretation.
1. Performs duties of a Sleep lab Technician and evaluates PSG and MSLT recordings. Generates
computerized PSG report.
2. Interprets raw data: score polysomnogram for sleep stages using standardized
criteria, compute parameters to include sleep latency, sleep efficiency and
percentage of sleep stages, analyze apneas and arousals(muscle and spontaneous).
3. Determine heart rate ranges for waking and sleeping stages. Identify and quantify
abnormalities in cardiac activity and respiration. Identifies normal/abnormal
patterns, artifacts and sleep/wake stages.
4. Assist with marketing the sleep lab to the outside community and staff physicians.
5. Provides information to the medical staff with regard to test capabilities and requirements in order
to increase medical staff knowledge of polysomnographic testing. Provides in-service education to

Vocational/technical training and a minimum of one year’s job-related experience or equivalent is required. Registered Polysomnography technologist certification is also required.
The job is also typically required to perform work through eye/hand/foot coordination most of a normal workday.
