Job summary

  • Interprets raw data: scores polysomnogram for sleep stages using standardized criteria, computes sleep latency, sleep efficiency and percentage of sleep stages.
  • Determines heart rate ranges for waking and sleeping stages; identifies and quantifies abnormalities in cardiac activity and respiration.
  • Assists with marketing the sleep lab to the outside community and staff physicians.
  • Provides information to medical staff regarding test capabilities and requirements to increase knowledge of polysomnographic testing; provides in-service education.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

2. Interprets raw data: score polysomnogram for sleep stages using standardized

criteria, compute parameters to include sleep latency, sleep efficiency and

percentage of sleep stages, analyze apneas and arousals(muscle and spontaneous).

3. Determine heart rate ranges for waking and sleeping stages. Identify and quantify

abnormalities in cardiac activity and respiration. Identifies normal/abnormal

patterns, artifacts and sleep/wake stages.

4. Assist with marketing the sleep lab to the outside community and staff physicians.

5. Provides information to the medical staff with regard to test capabilities and requirements in order

to increase medical staff knowledge of polysomnographic testing. Provides in-service education to

Physical Environment
