Job summary

Care New England Health System is seeking a Sleep Lab Technician to score sleep records (PSG/MSLT) and prepare reports for physician interpretation. You will interpret data, score sleep stages, and analyze cardiac and respiratory patterns.

You may also assist in marketing the sleep lab and provide in-service education to staff. Applicants must have vocational/technical training and at least one year of related experience, plus Registered Polysomnography technologist certification.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year’s job-related experience or equivalent is required.
  • Registered Polysomnography technologist certification is required.

  • Assists with marketing the sleep lab to outside community and staff physicians and provides information on test capabilities.
  • Provides in-service education to sleep lab staff.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Performs the duties of a Sleep Lab Technician, scores sleep record of patient and prepares for physician interpretation.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs duties of a Sleep lab Technician and evaluates PSG and MSLT recordings. Generates computerized PSG report.
  • Interprets raw data: score polysomnogram for sleep stages using standardized criteria, compute parameters to include sleep latency, sleep efficiency and percentage of sleep stages, analyze apneas and arousals (muscle and spontaneous).
  • Determine heart rate ranges for waking and sleeping stages. Identify and quantify abnormalities in cardiac activity and respiration. Identifies normal/abnormal patterns, artifacts and sleep/wake stages.
  • Assist with marketing the sleep lab to the outside community and staff physicians. Provides information to the medical staff with regard to test capabilities and requirements in order to increase medical staff knowledge of polysomnographic testing.
  • Provide in-service education to sleep lab staff.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
