Job Title:
Polysomnograph Technician
Job Overview:
The Polysomnograph Technician performs standard and complex polysomnographic recordings and monitors physiological phenomena throughout such procedures.
Qualifications:
- Certified Registered or Licensed Respiratory Therapist
- or Registered Polysomnographic Technician
- BLS through the American Heart Association
- One to three years previous patient care or health‑related experience
Scheduling Requirements:
Essential Functions:
- Performs standard and complex polysomnographic recordings and monitors physiological phenomena throughout such procedures.
- Administers oxygen and nasal continuous positive airway pressure and employs ventilatory assist devices in accordance with established protocols.
- Special procedures such as multiple sleep latency testing are also performed.
- Ensures cleanliness, appearance and safety of physical plant and reports issues with the appropriate department as well as supervisor.
- Ensures proper functioning of equipment. Provides routine cleaning of equipment after each use. Maintains appropriate inventory of patient supplies.
- Scores polysomnogram/MSLT accurately; provides appropriate documentation for physician interpretation. Maintains records, reports, log books as required.
- Performs other duties of the department as assigned.
