Job summary

AV, Inc. is seeking a Lab Manager for Polymers and Specialty Materials at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH. You will oversee lab operations, safety, procurement, and vendor coordination to keep research running smoothly and safely.

The role involves hands‑on lab management, equipment maintenance, and compliance with Air Force requirements, with collaboration across AV teams and government staff. Onsite Dayton, OH.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a relevant technical, scientific, or operations field, or 3+ years of lab ops experience.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and hazardous material handling.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in tracking records and schedules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with scientists, engineers, and vendors.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic procurement systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage lab purchasing: quotes, requisitions, and equipment/consumables delivery and returns.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and calibration for lab equipment.
• Log equipment status and compliance using tracking software and Air Force Forms.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with Air Force rules.
• Assist with setup and installation of new equipment and utility connections.
• Handle hazardous materials training and documentation.
• Ship hazardous and non-hazardous materials per regulations.
• Build relationships with internal teams, government researchers, and suppliers.
