Job summary

AV Inc. is seeking a motivated student researcher to join the Biological Materials and Processes Research Team at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. You will perform hands-on lab tasks and develop hardware/software for liquid handling to support biomolecule production and analysis.

Role involves multidisciplinary collaboration, data recording, and regular presentations. Requires enrollment in a STEM program and US citizenship due to ITAR/compliance considerations.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate (junior or higher) or graduate STEM program.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and work on a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to follow directions.
• Experience with laboratory chemicals.
• Related laboratory or research experience.
• Competency in LabVIEW, Python, and Solidworks 3D modeling (or equivalent) and basic electrical circuit design.

Responsibilities

• Use a variety of scientific and engineering techniques to perform experiments addressing research questions.
• Develop hardware and software for liquid handling in biomolecule production, purification, and characterization.
• Conduct biochemical assays using the liquid handling capability.
• Record organized notes of SOPs, test protocols, and results.
• Communicate results clearly in presentations.
