Stepan Company is seeking an Asset Manager - Polymers in Northbrook, IL to lead regional asset strategies, drive profitability, and manage cross-functional teams. The role emphasizes long-range network planning, S&OP collaboration, and continuous process improvement within a major chemical manufacturer.

The position requires strong analytical skills, experience in matrixed environments, and the ability to deliver on growth initiatives and cost reductions across product lines and assets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related business experience; 8+ years preferred.
• Experience in a matrixed environment with cross-functional teams.
• Self-starter who identifies and resolves issues proactively.
• Ability to work with all organizational levels and departments.
• Strong analytical, project management, problem solving and process mindset.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Own P&L for assets and product lines in assigned regions.
• Direct resources to maximize profit for Stepan.
• Develop asset strategies to maximize profitability.
• Analyze long-term sales forecasts (>18 months) for network planning.
• Review short/long-term opportunities and optimize profitability with S&OP.
• Support supply chain in addressing 12-month constraints.
• Develop and execute regional/asset plans supporting growth.
• Utilize effective project management skills.
• Create five-year plans aligned with Global Corporate Plan.
• Identify process optimization opportunities via OEE and yield analysis.
• Prioritize and track cost reduction projects.
• Build relationships with customers, suppliers and competitors.
• Gather market feedback and translate to product strategies.
• Mentor teammates to grow both technical and non-technical skills.
