Job summary

INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA, Chocolate Bayou Works – Alvin, TX, seeks a Process Engineer for polymers to support safe, reliable, on-spec production. You will apply standard engineering methods, perform mass and energy balances, and drive continuous improvement with Operations, Maintenance, SHE and Reliability.

Required is a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering; experience in polymer manufacturing is preferred.

Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to apply process engineering principles in chemical manufacturing.
Knowledge of process safety management, environmental compliance, and technical documentation.
Ability to interpret process data, perform engineering calculations, and develop sound recommendations.

Responsibilities

Apply standardized process engineering tools, calculations, work practices, and documentation for the Process Engineering discipline.
Support Polymer unit priorities through technically sound analysis and timely execution of work.
Maintain interfaces with unit teams while preserving independent engineering judgment and site standards.
Develop technical capability through mentoring, peer reviews, stretch assignments, and governance participation.
Participate in PHAs, HAZOPs, LOPAs, MOCs, audits, and technical reviews with clear documentation.
Provide process engineering input for startups, shutdowns, turnarounds and temporary operating conditions.
