Job summary

Essex Solutions Inc. is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to lead data governance and process monitoring in a polymer resin or enamel facility.

You will drive improvements toward current and future automation, aiming to lower variation and improve throughput while upholding safety and quality. The role involves reaction engineering, mass and energy balances, and collaboration with controls engineers to tune loops and PLC/DCS logic.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Polymer/Materials Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a chemical manufacturing environment; resins, coatings, polymers, or plastics preferred.
  • Proficiency in process simulation, AutoCAD, and Origin Pro/JMP/similar.

Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization & Monitoring: Optimize polymerization cycles, control temperature/viscosity, regulate pressure, manage material addition rates.
  • Equipment & Infrastructure Optimization: Specify/size reactors, heat exchangers, distillation columns, and filtration systems; update P&IDs and PFDs; collaborate to tune PLC/DCS logic.
  • Quality & Safety: Lead or participate in PSM, ensure resin properties meet specs, track QC data, perform RCA using Lean/Six Sigma.
  • Project Management: Support CAPEX projects from scoping to startup; manage MOC documentation and safety reviews.
  • Culture: Foster accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement.
