Job summary

Core4ce is seeking a research scientist based in Dayton, OH to lead the design, synthesis, and advanced formulation of polymeric materials for defense and optical applications. The role focuses on structure–property–processing relationships and interdisciplinary collaboration with government, academia, and industry partners.

You will design experiments, develop high-throughput workflows, and optimize resin packages while mentoring junior scientists and co-authoring publications and conference

Qualifications

• US citizen required
• PhD/MS in Chemistry or related field
• Minimum 3 years of post-degree or relevant lab experience in polymer synthesis, formulation, and materials characterization
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Design and execute polymer formulations research for defense and optical applications
• Synthesize and optimize polymeric materials and resin matrices
• Develop and refine formulations with crosslinkers, initiators, catalysts, and fillers
• Characterize materials using DSC, TGA, DMA, rheology, and spectroscopic methods
• Plan experiments and mentor junior researchers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners
• Prepare manuscripts and presentations for conferences
