Job summary

Pretium Packaging powers brands across industries with smart, sustainable packaging. We seek a hands-on Technician Operator to launch and verify production, run extrusion blow mold and injection molding equipment, and manage downstream labeling and decoration tasks.

You will document runs, ensure quality and safety, and support training of teammates in a fast-paced Aurora, IL facility with strong focus on continuous improvement and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Hands-on plastics molding experience preferred.
• Understanding of plastics processes and production equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude; technical exposure to packaging, plastics, and printing machinery.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Strong manual dexterity and close attention to detail.
• Comfort in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
• Problem-solving mindset and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Launch and verify production: confirm set points and bring equipment online.
• Run plastics machinery: extrusion blow mold, extrusion, injection blow mold, and injection molding equipment.
• Operate downstream/decoration: labelers, pad printers, and silk-screen units.
• Keep processes in control: clean filters, handle purges, and perform minor maintenance.
• Validate materials and packaging: sleeves, boxes, labels, and resins by part number.
• Maintain process records: M.O. Weight and Process Check Sheets.
• Audit quality in real time: check samples against specifications and adjust.
• Troubleshoot and escape: make corrections; alert supervision for repairs; restart after maintenance.
• Document everything: issues, root causes, corrective actions; record production and quality data (manual/data collector) and close runs.
• Own the workcell: keep it clean, safe, and audit-ready.
• Lift others: assist in training Technician Operators and support teammates.
• Provide break and lunch relief; contribute to special projects.
