Job summary

Pretium Packaging is seeking an Extrusion Blow Molding Process Operator to join our Utah manufacturing team. You will own production lines, dial in parameters, start-ups, and changeovers to meet throughput and quality targets on a 12-hour shift.

We value safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement as you monitor equipment, perform inspections, and document quality checks. A High School diploma or GED and 1–2 years of production experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years in manufacturing, machine operation or production preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot common issues.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Basic computer proficiency for logs and data entry.
• Comfort reading and following written procedures and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and adjust extrusion blow molding equipment to meet production targets.
• Perform machine start-ups, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting to sustain uptime.
• Review shift performance and ensure lines run efficiently and safely.
• Complete routine adjustments and preventive maintenance tasks; escalate issues as needed.

Your Day at a Glance

You’ll Start Your Shift By Reviewing Equipment Status With The Outgoing Crew And Confirming Raw Material Levels. From There, You’ll Take Ownership Of Your Production Lines—dialing In Parameters, Initiating Start-ups, And Executing Changeovers To Meet Both Throughput And Quality Targets. Throughout The Shift You Will

• Operate, monitor, and adjust blow molding and related equipment to hit production goals and meet specifications
• Perform machine changeovers, start-ups, and basic troubleshooting to sustain uptime
• Review performance trends with the previous shift and keep lines running efficiently
• Complete routine adjustments and preventive maintenance tasks while escalating issues promptly

Quality & Documentation

• Conduct in-process inspections and quality checks against defined standards
• Record machine adjustments, process changes, and any quality concerns
• Identify defects, correct issues, and follow established quality procedures and work instructions

Materials, Housekeeping & Safety

• Monitor and replenish raw materials to maintain continuous production
• Keep equipment and work areas clean, organized, and free of debris
• Follow company safety policies, wear required PPE, and report hazards immediately
• Participate in safety initiatives and training programs

Food Safety & Quality Responsibilities

• Verify activities meet food safety, GMP, and quality requirements
• Restore product-contact surfaces to sanitary condition after maintenance or production work
• Accurately complete all required food safety and quality documentation
• Immediately report any food safety, quality, or process concerns to supervision

Responsible for food safety, food quality, and site safety.

Team Contributions

• Follow plant job specifications and task requirements
• Support overtime, planned shutdowns, and special projects as needed
• Attend required meetings and training
• Perform additional duties as assigned

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 1–2 years of manufacturing, machine operation, or production experience preferred
• Mechanical aptitude with solid troubleshooting ability
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
• Basic computer proficiency
• Comfort reading and following written procedures and specifications

Preferred Background

• Experience in plastics manufacturing or the packaging industry
• Hands-on machine set-ups and changeovers
• Success in a fast-paced production environment

Physical & Schedule Requirements

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
• Stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods
• Bend, stoop, twist, reach, push, and pull throughout the shift
• Use hands to handle equipment, tools, and materials
• Work a 12-hour shift schedule
• Close vision for inspections and quality checks

Work Environment
