Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• 3+ years of Medical Assistant experience in a private physician practice preferred.
• Experience with both front-office and clinical responsibilities.
• Prior EMR/EHR experience is required, even though the practice currently uses paper charts.
• Strong computer and technology skills.
• Knowledge of medical records, referrals, orders, and outside records.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide a warm, professional experience.
• Answer incoming calls and respond to patient questions.
• Schedule and coordinate appointments.
• Assist with check-in and check-out.
• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document medical histories.
• Review and update medication lists and patient information.
• Prepare exam rooms and assist the provider with examinations and procedures.
• Enter and coordinate laboratory, imaging, and other medical orders.
• Track outstanding orders and follow up on results.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• Provide general front-office and clinical support as needed.
