This role combines clinical, administrative, and patient-facing responsibilities in a small, professional practice. The ideal candidate is organized, discreet, dependable, comfortable working independently, and committed to providing an exceptional patient experience.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesGreet patients and provide a warm, professional experienceAnswer incoming calls and respond to patient questionsSchedule and coordinate appointmentsAssist with check-in and check-outRoom patients, obtain vital signs, and document medical historiesReview and update medication lists and patient informationPrepare exam rooms and assist the provider with examinations and proceduresEnter and coordinate laboratory, imaging, and other medical ordersTrack outstanding orders and follow up on resultsRequest, obtain, scan, organize, and maintain outside medical recordsAssist with referrals and coordination of careCommunicate with pharmacies, laboratories, imaging centers, specialists, and other medical officesMaintain accurate patient charts and medical documentationMaintain HIPAA compliance and strict patient confidentialityProvide general front-office and clinical support as neededPhlebotomy is not required.Qualifications / RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredMedical Assistant certification preferred3+ years of Medical Assistant experience in a private physician practice preferredExperience with both front-office and clinical responsibilitiesPrior EMR/EHR experience is required, even though the practice currently uses paper chartsStrong computer and technology skillsExperience with medical records, referrals, orders, and outside recordsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and take initiativeProfessional appearance, demeanor, and judgmentStable employment history and interest in a long-term opportunityPreferred QualificationsExperience in a small private or concierge medical practiceSenior MA, Lead MA, Clinical Coordinator, or similar experienceExperience coordinating care with specialists and outside medical officesKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesThe successful candidate should be warm, professional, patient-focused, organized, dependable, and detail-oriented. Must be able to multitask, manage changing priorities, communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals, and recognize what needs to be done without constant direction.Physical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the office during the workday. Must be able to perform routine patient-care activities and handle typical medical-office supplies.Work EnvironmentSmall, professional private medical practice with a personalized, patient-centered environment. This is not a high-volume setting and requires someone comfortable wearing multiple hats and contributing wherever needed.Additional RequirementsEmployment is contingent upon completion of required background screening and any other applicable pre-employment requirements.
