Job summary

MAPFRE is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Guidewire PolicyCenter and Policy Lifecycle engineering team in Webster, MA. This role will contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of capabilities that enable quoting, underwriting, policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, reinstatements, and customer servicing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• Software development experience with Java, Gosu, or similar OO languages.
• Understanding of OO design and software development principles.
• REST APIs, XML, JSON, SQL, and data modeling.
• Git-based source control and agile practices.
• Experience with testable, maintainable code and unit testing.
• Ability to learn Guidewire PolicyCenter and Cloud concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop PolicyCenter solutions using Gosu, Java, and PolicyCenter configuration.
• Configure product models, quotes, policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, and servicing.
• Integrate PolicyCenter with internal and external systems.
• Collaborate in SDLC ceremonies and ensure quality through testing and reviews.
• Support deployments, production stability, and on-call rotations.
