Mercury Insurance Services, LLC is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across multiple agile teams, designing, building, and maintaining complex software systems. You will mentor junior engineers and drive high-quality, scalable solutions aligned with product roadmaps.

Applicants should have 7+ years of software engineering, strong Java/Spring Boot/microservices experience, and familiarity with Guidewire PolicyCenter, cloud platforms, and modern data streaming

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years software engineering experience with cutting-edge technologies.
• 3+ years leading multi-team engineering initiatives in distributed systems.
• 7+ years with Guidewire PolicyCenter; 5+ years Java/Spring Boot/microservices.

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality code for complex scenarios with good test coverage.
• Review designs and translate requirements into robust, scalable systems.
• Lead design and code reviews to ensure best practices and quality.
• Guide multiple sprint teams to deliver prioritized roadmap items.
• Collaborate with product and other teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Mentor engineers across multiple teams and drive technical excellence.
• Partner with product managers to estimate effort and plan work.
