SEIU (Service Employees International Union) is seeking an Assistant Director of Policy to plan, develop, and implement the International’s public policy positions under the direction of the Policy Director. The role focuses on advancing federal public policy programs, coordinating with government relations, and shaping the union’s policy positions for working people across the United States.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience and 5–7 years of policy analysis experience
• Ability to develop creative policy solutions and communicate effectively.

Mansioni

• Work with officers, leaders, and senior staff to develop and advance federal public policy programs and strategies.
• Direct, review, and develop analysis, testimony, and other policy materials.
• Advocate and coordinate advocacy with federal, state, and local government agencies.
• Develop and present the International’s positions before conferences and public forums.
• Develop relationships with strategic partners in the labor movement.
• Collaborate with Government Relations and Politics Hub and other teams.
• Manage professional staff and coordinate policy work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
