Job summary

The Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia is seeking a Director for the Policy and Legislative Affairs section within the Immediate Office. The role reports to the Chief of Staff and leads policy positions across a broad legal agenda for the District.

You will work with senior leadership to develop priorities, craft legislation, and coordinate testimony while building relationships with the Council and District agencies. A JD is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience handling complex policy and legislative matters.

Responsibilities

• Develop policy priorities with the Chief of Staff and Senior Leadership Team.
• Hone policy positions with OAG divisions and review legislation to advance these positions.
• Advise the Council on potential legislation and consult with District agencies and communities.
• Draft and review all OAG testimony to ensure consistency with policy positions.
