Job summary

The Nature Conservancy seeks a Policy Advisor, Natural Climate Solutions to translate climate research on forestry into a practical policy agenda and drive adoption of priority policies at federal and state levels.

Based in the Washington, DC area, you will collaborate with a matrixed team and diverse partners to advance policy solutions that reduce emissions and improve forest management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in political science, climate, natural resource management or environmental policy with 5 years of policy analysis/government relations experience.
• Knowledge of public and private programs and incentives including carbon markets related to carbon sequestration and land use.
• Experience working with government agencies, coalitions or partners in forestry or natural climate solutions.

• Advance policy by building partnerships across government, nonprofit and industry actors.
• Develop evidence-based, politically feasible strategy to reduce emissions and drive policy adoption.
