Job summary

The Nature Conservancy seeks a Government Relations Associate to advance conservation policy at the Minnesota State Capitol and across MN, ND, and SD. You will support the Director of Policy and Government Relations for MN-ND-SD, conduct research, and help develop strategies and lobbying materials for conservation priorities.

You will build partnerships with agencies and organizations, supervise interns, and manage budget-related tasks while coordinating across multiple priorities in a complex

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years related work experience.
• Fluency in English.
• Experience researching information from divergent sources and compiling it into a cohesive report.
• Experience preparing written materials such as memos, research documents, policy summaries, official correspondence.
• Experience presenting to and communicating with internal and external audiences.
• Experience interacting with senior leadership in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Track hearings, policies and decisions related to MN policy areas.
• Provide research, policy analysis, and strategy development for land, water, climate, and agriculture objectives.
• Collaborate with team to prepare lobbying materials, memos, and communications for officials and staff.
• Develop strategic partnerships with agencies, conservation groups, and industry.
• Supervise interns or temporary staff and manage related budgets and travel expenses.
• Support projects and administrative functions while ensuring policy compliance.
