Job summary

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) seeks a Government Relations Associate to join the MN-ND-SD policy team. The role supports the Minnesota State Capitol policy work and broader conservation priorities across MN, ND, and SD.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of related work experience.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience researching information from divergent sources and compiling it into a cohesive report.
  • Experience preparing written materials such as memos, research documents, policy summaries, official correspondence.
  • Experience presenting to and communicating with internal and external audiences.
  • Experience interacting with senior leadership in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Track hearings, policies and decisions related to MN, ND, SD policy areas.
  • Provide research and policy analysis to support legislative, corporate and policy priorities.
  • Collaborate with team to prepare lobbying materials, memos, and other communications for officials and staff.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with relevant agencies, conservation organizations, and industry.
  • Supervise interns or temporary staff; manage budgets and travel expense reports.
  • Support Policy and Government Relations team projects and administrative functions, ensuring program compliance.
