Job summary

The role involves building on Checkbook NYC, ClaimStat, and Agency Watch List data, leveraging public sources, and collaborating with BIST and other bureaus to inform city priorities.

The analyst will produce clear visualizations and translate technical results into actionable policy recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in data analysis or analytics in government, academia, or nonprofit.
• Experience translating quantitative findings into policy insights.
• Experience with datasets from government agencies and open data.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct data-driven policy analysis across housing, health, justice, transit, and education.
• Translate quantitative findings into clear insights for diverse audiences.
• Design analytical workflows for briefs, reports, dashboards, and presentations.
• Maintain an internal catalog of public and agency data assets.
• Collaborate with cross-bureau teams on data-driven initiatives.
• Engage with NYC civic tech and research communities on data projects.
• Perform other related duties as required.
