Job summary

Office of the New York State Comptroller seeks a Senior Municipal Financial Analyst to assist in analyzing NYC fiscal performance and preparing detailed reports and briefs. You will compile data for statistical analyses, review legislation impacting finance, and summarize findings for leadership.

Preferred candidates have strong Excel, data modeling, and policy analysis skills, with familiarity in budgetary and pension concepts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in public policy, public financial analysis or economic analysis.
A Juris Doctor, master’s or higher degree can substitute for one year of specialized experience.
Must be reachable on eligible list or transfer-eligible under Civil Service rules.

Responsibilities

Assist in analyzing and monitoring New York City fiscal and management performance.
Compile data for statistical and analytical reports and analyze revenue and expenditure trends.
Draft and edit reports, briefings, correspondence, and other communications.
