Job summary

The City of Peoria, AZ seeks a Police Technology Analyst to join our Police Department and City IT teams. You will analyze business needs, translate them into practical technical solutions, and maintain accurate documentation while serving as a liaison among users, IT staff, and stakeholders.

You will develop end‑user training, support police applications such as Tyler Technologies, Axon, PowerDMS, and LexisNexis, and help manage upgrades.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent combo of education and experience permitted.
  • Minimum of three years of systems application analysis, preparing system documentation, and related Police Department experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes business needs and utilizes technological solutions to achieve efficient results; collaborate with users to evaluate program and system effectiveness; modify department systems and enhance controls.
  • Develops, coordinates, and delivers end-user training programs for business systems and technologies; designs curriculum, job aids, and instructional content; assesses training needs and updates materials.
  • Develops, manages, modifies, and maintains police technological applications (Tyler Technologies, Axon, Enforcement Mobile, LexisNexis, PowerDMS, Secure Access); provides daily support and troubleshooting.
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation (SOPs, user guides, workflows); translates complex concepts into user-friendly docs; supports change management and user readiness.
  • Identifies trends and makes recommendations on software/hardware needs; assists with procurement, budgeting, and upgrade testing.
  • Serves as departmental liaison with City IT and other departments on software issues; manages upgrade phases; conducts testing.
  • Uses analytical skills to research and resolve technical, operational, and procedural problems; conducts studies and audits to improve efficiency.
