Job summary

The University of Houston System is seeking a Police Officer to supervise law enforcement and security personnel on assigned shifts, ensure adherence to procedures and laws, and support various safety programs across the campus.

Candidates must hold a valid Texas TCOLE license with up-to-date training, possess a driver’s license, and pass background checks. Ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime is required as essential staff.

Qualifications

Requires a valid Texas TCOLE license with up-to-date training.
Minimum of 1 year directly job-related experience.
Requires a driver’s license valid in Texas.
Must pass a criminal history background check and pre-employment screens.
Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

Supervises shift personnel including assignments, development, and performance evaluation.
Coordinates the Beat Management program, call responses, and crime scene investigations.
Disseminates information regarding criminal activity and safety events to department staff.
Liaisons with the community, conducts safety information sessions and crime prevention presentations.
Identifies efficiencies in department operations and processes.
Prepares and reviews reports and maintains supervisory files.
Conducts regular building, vehicle, and uniform inspections.
Participates in required training.
